WHIT Aesthetics chose to work with the ClearLift laser tattoo removal system because it is a state-of-the-art q-switched ND: Yag laser which minimizes the risks of scarring or loss of skin color (hypopigmentation).
HOW TATTOO REMOVAL WORKS
Every color of ink requires a different wavelength of light and amount of energy to be effectively removed. Successful multi-color tattoo removal requires a high powered laser that can deliver enough energy within the absorption spectrum of a wide range of colors. ClearLift is a high-powered Q-switched laser that can operate 2 different wavelengths to be effective with darker colors and brighter colors like red.
The ClearLift's mechanical Q-Switched technology works by vibrating and breaking down the ink particles in the tattoo. As the area heals, the body’s immune system flushes away the shattered ink particles, causing the tattoo to fade with minimal risk of scarring or hypopigmentation.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
That depends on the size, age and location of the tattoo. Some large tattoos are so big they can’t be covered in one session, thus requiring more appointments. Also, older tattoos are harder to remove as over time the pigment goes deeper within the skin. Keep in mind intervals of 6-8 weeks between sessions are mandatory therefore, an 8 session process can take a little bit over a year.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE TREATMENT?
A series of short, sharp flashes of light will be concentrated into the skin through the Alma Harmony Laser device. As the light goes into the skin, the tattoo ink absorbs the laser and breaks down. This broken down ink is naturally removed from the body over time until it’s completely gone.
IS THE TREATMENT PAINFUL?
As we are breaking down the tattoo ink from the inside out, you may experience some discomfort. However, we are able to apply a topical numbing cream if necessary. This can help alleviate some of the discomforts and by the time your tattoo is fully removed, you’ll forget all about these sessions!
