MICRONEEDLING

REJUVAPEN MICRONEEDLING

Microneedling works on the skin by creating tiny micro-injuries to the skin, known as microchannels. When the skin perceives an injury, its response is to produce more collagen and elastin. This is why microneedling is also known as Collagen Induction Therapy! The healing response stimulates the body’s natural healing response and promotes the production of your body's own collagen.

At WHIT Aesthetics, we utilize Rejuvapen NXT, a state of the art, FDA-approved microneedling device available through medical professionals only.

MICRONEEDLING WITH PRP

For some patients, combining the Rejuvapen® microneedling treatment with the application of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) can enchance the treatment results. This super rejuvenating booster is designed to use your body’s own growth factors to help the skin from the inside out.

PRP is used in many medical fields as a tool to assist in tissue regeneration, wound healing, scar revision, skin rejuvenation, and even hair loss. Our blood is made of two main parts: red blood cells and plasma. Plasma, the active ingredient in this treatment, contains white blood cells and platelets. Platelets are typically responsible for your blood’s ability to form a clot after a cut, but they also contain growth factors, which act as messengers to signal various cell types to carry out their designated function. When used with Rejuvapen®, growth factor-rich PRP helps repair blood vessels, promote cell growth and wound healing, and stimulate collagen production for younger looking skin.

PRP FOR HAIR RESTORATION

As we age, our hair begins to thin, and female-pattern or male-pattern hair loss can occur. This can cause feelings of insecurity which affect your mental well-being. At WHIT Aesthetics in Breckenridge, MN, we believe everyone deserves to be happy, healthy, and confident no matter what age. That’s why we offer Microneedling with PRP for hair restoration! This treatment is an excellent choice for those who wish to slow the spread of thinning hair, stimulate new hair growth, or for those who want to improve their overall scalp health.

During your treatment, microchannels with Rejuvapen are created on the top layer of the scalp where hair follicles sit. The penetration by these microchannels stimulates the release of growth factors in and around the scalp, essentially priming the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to absorb more effectively and perform faster. PRP is rich in specialized proteins called growth factors and cytokines that promote hair growth and healing. There is significant evidence that PRP offers improvement in hair growth in many patients.

Microneedling also exfoliates the surface of the scalp, resulting in a deep cleansing action that removes product build-up, which can suffocate the hair follicles and prevent new growth.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHO IS A CANDIDATE FOR REJUVAPEN MICRONEEDLING?

One of the most exciting things about Rejuvapen is that it can be used on all types of skin and can be used to address a wide range of problems such as acne scars, stretch marks, fine lines and wrinkles.

IS MICRONEEDLING PAINFUL?

Most patients find microneedling with Rejuvapen to be a comfortable treatment. Prior to the treatment, numbing cream can be applied to minimize any pain that is felt during the procedure.

IS THERE DOWNTIME AFTER A MICRONEEDLING TREATMENT?

Inflammation of the skin is very temporary and reduces greatly within a few hours. It may remain slightly pink for up to 48 hours after treatment. Using hyaluronic acid after the procedure can help reduce inflammation, and sunscreen can be used to protect the skin. Makeup use should be limited to mineral makeup.

HOW MANY HAIR RESTORATION TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

For people with thinning hair, we recommend a series of three treatments, performed one month a part for best results. Some patients may require maintenance treatments every 3 months thereafter to maintain the results of PRP hair restoration.
